Timeline
- 1882: George A. Whiting built a one machine mill on Menasha’s canal.
- 1885: Frank B Whiting born.
- 1885: House built by David Barnes.
- 1880’s: the two-story brick carriage house is built.
- 1908: Frank B Whiting graduates from Princeton.
- 1910: House purchased by Frank B. Whiting, he expanded the house as his family expanded in order to make room for his growing family. He also built the original tennis courts.
- 1920's: Garage built.
- 1930: George A. Whiting dies, and Frank A. Whiting assumes the presidency of his father’s business.
- 1932: The boathouse was constructed.
- 1937: Frank B. Whiting becomes president of the Whiting-Plover company.
- 1940's: Current porch built along with Whiting's marriage to Merle Stevens which began a second period of changes to the building. The tennis courts were converted to an animal preserve and the modernization changes to the house compromised the structural stability.
- 1952 Frank B Whiting dies
